Resources
1. Rules changes for the Nebraska legislature include a few tweaks to submitting comments and testimony to the senators. From the coalition for a Strong Nebraska:
a. What has changed: Online comments for the public record will now be able to be submitted until the 8 a.m. the morning of the hearing
b. There will be two new links on the website for each bill. One will be a list of the names and organizations of those who submit online comments and elect to be part of the public record. The other will be a list of those who go to a public hearing in person, sign the sheet at the entrance to share their opinion, but do not testify.
c. Both will be part of the public hearing record as an exhibit but will not be included in the committee statement. The committee statement will still only list those who testify in person. The change, however, will make the exhibit of names on the hearing record more easily accessible to the public and to Senators.
2. Elections 2024 – Preston Love, Jr is running for Senate against Pete Ricketts, Carol Blood is running against incumbent Mike Flood for the 1st District Congressional seat, Tony Vargas is running against incumbent Don Bacon and Republican challenger Dan Frei in the 2nd District and in the 3rd District, Adrian Smith will be challenged by Republican John Walz, a Hastings business man. Check Ballotpedia for more information
3. Don’t forget to check out Mundo Latino’s latest issue here or Mundo Latino Network here.
